All you need to bring is your thoughts and ideas on what you’d like testing – perhaps it’s a business problem you’ve been scratching your head over, or an early stage concept you’d like to test with real users. We’ll put your business and brand in front of real people who fit your customer profile. Then the results are yours to learn from, to help you reach more customers and secure investment from an improved proposition.
The package you could win includes:
- One day of preparation and planning, working with you on the right questions to ask.
- Recruiting five participants, profiled against the audience you are most interested in learning more about. We’ll even pay their incentives.
- One day of research. This could either be UX research, giving you a head start on understanding the needs of your users or behavioural research to understand your customers decision making processes.
- De-brief with our team to help you make sense of the findings.
- One day of reporting back on the results of the research.
How do you enter?
Fill out the form below, stating in no more than 300 words your company mission and what impact this research will have on your business. Our panel of judges will agree on one start-up they think will most benefit from the research package, according to their business goals.
You must be a UK start-up, less than two years old.
You need a live website and any app or development you’d like to test must be at least on staging in order to be tested.
We welcome businesses of all types, from all walks of life.

Jem has been a Chef, a Decorator and a Hairdresser before joining Tech Nation, a government funded organisation aimed at helping ambitious tech entrepreneurs as they start, scale and grow. Also business woman in her own right, with a consultancy which works with leading names including Digital Catapult and Rolls Royce on strategy, content and communities.

Simon Penson is a 2 x exit digital entrepreneur, best known as the founder of the UK’s most successful digital content marketing agency. He is currently a partner at leading EIS Fund Haatch Ventures, a business that invests in some of the nation’s most exciting digital disrupters and pioneers.
