Our Environmental Policy
At SimpleUsability we value the world we live in. We therefore make every effort to minimize the impact of our actions on the environment and always remember our social responsibility. We find that through our actions we inspire others to do their bit too, just as we were inspired by one of our customers, InterfaceFLOR.
Don't worry, we're not a bunch of dungaree wearing, tree hugging hippees. We're not afraid of using resources - we just aim to be considered in their use. It's often the little things that count. Here are some of the things we do:
Waste Prevention
Waste prevention is the most efficient and environmentally beneficial form of resource management. Essentially it's all about trying to create less waste in the first place.
The use of electronic documents and email delivery minimizes our paper wastage. We will only send paper documents when requested, this includes our invoices. Where necessary we use double sided printing, and always re-use scrap paper for printing drafts. Hard copies are kept to a minimum.
We are an Evian free zone. We only drink filtered tap water in the office, recognising bottled water as an obscene waste of energy and petrochemical resources.
Recycling
As a company policy we endeavor to recycle everything that can be recycled, from paper and cardboard to drinks bottles and printer consumables.
We also try to buy products made from recycled materials whenever possible and willing to pay a small premium for this.
Re-using Things
We will always try to re-use materials as much as we can in whatever way we can, whether in the office or at home. Some examples include shredding scrap paper for use in compost at our homes and re-using office supplies such as boxes, envelopes and folders.
Social Responsibility
We're not just about being green, we have a social conscience too. Not only are we involved in various local schemes for education and training, but we do look beyond the sales brochures of our suppliers to ensure that they too are socially responsible.
SimpleUsability are committed to good Resource Management and minimal environmental impact.
We encourage our team to be sustainable in all of their life. Cycling to work and the use of fuel efficient vehicles are always encouraged.
