Usability Testing Research Costs

Conduct natural tasks with time for an in-depth interview with each user. In-depth usability testing can be carried out as a competitor review, key journey testing, pre-launch testing or post-launch testing as an iterative process. We have a flexible approach which allows us to customise the testing to your project needs.

1. Research Type » 2. Research Options » 3. Research Cost Estimate

Step 2. Choose your research options from below

How many users should I include?

We recommend a minimum of 5 users per segment of your audience. It may be more beneficial to test segments based on key behaviours / user journeys or life-stage rather than audience demographics such as age.

There are many ways to segment your audience and we can run a preliminary workshop to help the business define who the users are or just give us a call and we can help.

It also depends on what you are trying to achieve with the testing; 5 to 6 users per segment allows you to find out the majority of usability issues, and increasing the numbers allows you to be more statistically significant.

The majority of our clients conduct 2 or 3 days of testing.

Where to test?

The majority of testing takes place in our offices in central Leeds but you don't have to conduct each day of testing in one location - our eye tracking equipment is fully portable.

Summary PowerPoint style report
In-depth report

To fit in with your project we offer two types of reporting;

  1. A summary that contains detailed explanations and screenshots of the key issues.
  2. A more detailed in-depth report that details users' feedback against each finding and includes eye tracking analysis.

Topline Findings Report to be delivered within 48 hours of last day of research.

We understand the reality of projects and know that you may wish to start working on solutions with the team as soon as possible. We can supply a list of the main key issues identified by the research project.

Add Emotion Response Analysis (ERA) with EEG technology.

Our unique natural task methodology is the perfect environment to monitor different emotions while users complete tasks. We can find out how users are feeling at different points of the session to add a deeper level of insight to your study. E.g. are users getting particularly frustrated with their initial contact with a user interface, are the engaging with content, etc.
